Behind the Scenes: Making Soap at Waypoint Naturals
At Waypoint Naturals, every bar of soap tells a story—and that story starts long before it reaches your hands. Each batch is handcrafted using the cold-process method, a traditional technique that allows us to carefully combine natural oils, butters, and ingredients to create a bar that cleanses, nourishes, and protects skin.
Our small batches start with high-quality oils like Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Olive Oil, and Coconut Oil. We carefully measure each ingredient to ensure consistency and quality, then mix them with lye in a process that transforms them into soap through saponification—a bit of science and a lot of care.
Next comes the fun part: adding the special ingredients that make each bar unique. Whether it’s Turmeric, Oatmeal, Activated Charcoal, or soft fragrance, each element is added thoughtfully to enhance the bar’s benefits and experience. We pour the mixture into molds, let it rest, and then cut and cure it over several weeks, allowing the soap to harden, age, and develop a long-lasting lather.
We take pride in keeping the process small-batch and hands-on. That attention to detail is why our soaps feel creamy, rich, and truly nourishing. It’s not just soap—it’s handcrafted care made for real skin, made with intention and love.
